The Mid-America Passion Play returns to the Mid-South under the direction of Dr. James D. Whitmire as Mid-America Seminary & College, Crossroads Baptist Church, and Love Worth Finding Ministries join together again for this presentation.
Thanks to generous volunteers and donors, over 200 professions of faith have been made to date at this location and over 100,000 at prior presentations. The impact is eternal. With a cast, crew, and orchestra of over 250, more than 5,000 attend each year.
Dr. James D. Whitmire for nearly four decades produced and directed the Memphis Passion Play, Jacksonville (Florida) Passion Play, Uruguay Passion Play, and now The Mid-America Passion Play. The large-stage musical production will take advantage of Mid-America Seminary’s wonderful venue (2095 Appling Rd, Cordova TN 38016).

I am excited to announce that Crossroads Baptist Church, in cooperation with Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, is once again presenting the Mid-America Passion Play in Mid-America Seminary’s main auditorium on Appling Road. I am personally producing and directing the play on behalf of the seminary and the church.
There are several ways to support the production in addition to attending the performance:
- We are offering companies, businesses, and individuals the opportunity to sponsor this production. Sponsorship levels are $50,000, $25,000, $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500.
- Funds raised will underwrite items such as the building of the set, costumes, promotional materials and other expenses incurred in producing the Mid-America Passion Play both for the 2023 production and future presentations. Additional funds will go toward renovations to the Seminary auditorium, including a new speaker system, new balcony configuration, and platform improvements. All of these will not only benefit the Seminary but will help the Mid-America Passion Play in the coming years.
- Lastly, please pray for this production of the Mid-America Passion Play, that it will be a witness for Christ to the entire Mid-South community. Thank you in advance for supporting this outreach and coming alongside everyone involved in this production through prayer.

A Passion Play is a dramatic retelling of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Mid-America Passion Play uses music and drama to share the truth of Jesus, His earthly ministry and His redemptive work on the cross.
The performances will be in the main auditorium of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary located at 2095 Appling Rd., directly across the street from Bellevue Baptist Church at exit 15 on I-40.

Doors will open one hour prior to the performance.
Approximately two hours with no intermission.
This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. However, some elements of the presentation may be intense for small children.
There are no stairs to enter the seminary or access seats on the floor of the auditorium. Elevators are available on both the north and south side of the Auditorium for balcony access. Please note there are steps on the balcony level.
